High-school students of San Diego's Canyon Crest Academy's Conservatory for the Humanities will present a program about their year-long graphic novel project, which they describe as follows: "Our plan is to include every academic department in producing a series of graphic novels dedicated to the hummingbird. The plan is to collaborate with science classes on the biology and physics and social science on geography and the mythology of the hummingbird. The English students can write the copy and the art students will draw it. The eventual goal is to produce four books, each dedicated to the four biomes that the hummingbird flies through on it's migration from Alaska to Panama. The mission is to have the public realize that wild life in not just found in zoos but in their back yards as well. From that realization hopefully will come a sense that stewardship of the environment is our civic duty. The students are excited that the means to achieving this goal is through the medium of the comic-book."
