Theoretical physicist (UCSB) and author A. Zee will speak on SETI, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence. Fellow UCSB physics professor Roger Freedman says of Dr. Zee, "His concept for how alien civilizations can communicate across the galaxy is one of the wildest (while firmly based in modern physics) that I've ever encountered!"
